Heard and Noted
Thoughts from the Community about the DA's Office and the state of our City in General.

Thank you for putting together the program you shared with our students last month. It really made a positive impression.

What this department has done in recent years is truly remarkable.

DA Soares and his team are a shining example of how community justice can really work.
Bureaus
The DA's Office is comprised of sworn and professional personnel divided into nine bureaus.
Appeals and Legal Affairs Unit
The Legal Affairs Unit handles all appellate advocacy for the Office and serves as a legal department and research center for all of the Office's Assistant District Attorneys.
Street Crimes Unit
The Street Crimes Unit investigates and prosecutes individuals and organizations involved in the trafficking of narcotics in Albany County. The Street Crimes Unit investigates street level distribution and conducts long term investigations into suspected criminal narcotics organizations.
Financial Crimes Unit
Every day cases are forwarded to the FCU from law enforcement agencies across the county. While the facts and circumstances of these cases may vary, the common thread for all financial crimes cases is the loss of money to a victim, whether the victim is an individual, a retail store or bank, or even the State of New York.
